Working as an Emissary is uncharted territory.
Each Emissary is different, and there is no one size fits all approach to maximizing your opportunities on the Emissary platform. So how do you get those important but non-essential questions answered as you go from engagement to engagement? With whom can you compare notes about your work as an Emissary?
We’ve gathered feedback from some of our top Emissaries, and have compiled the most frequently asked questions for you.
Why do I get so many engagement proposals?
The proposal process serves two purposes. First, to introduce our Emissaries to an opportunity, and to a client. It allows the Emissary to determine whether or not an opportunity is a good fit for them. Second, these proposals give our clients the confidence to proceed with a selected Emissary. The questions included are meant to be simple, and to take no longer than five minutes to answer. Some questions may feel repetitive, but this is just to ensure that each separate client is aware of your full background – we don’t send the same proposal to every client. If you’re receiving a lot of proposals, that’s an indication that you’re of interest to many clients, which we see as a positive.
I have plenty of colleagues who’d enjoy this. Do you have a referral program?
We do indeed. Two as a matter of fact. We have a referral program to refer your colleagues to the Emissary network, and a program to refer clients who want to gain access to our Emissary network. If your colleagues join us as Emissaries, and receive an engagement within their first six months, you receive $100. If you refer contacts at a technology company you think would be a great customer fit for us, and they sign up with an initial $20k deal or above, you receive $500.

I want more engagements. What can I do?
Let us know! Send an email to nathan.gardner@emissary.io indicating your interest so that I can surface your profile to our customer success team. We have thousands of Emissaries, and if you’d like more engagements the best way to make that happen is to make your interest clear.
I feel like my Emissary profile doesn’t capture my full background. What can I do to share more?
If you haven’t already, you can add a personal statement to each position in your profile. This is where you can tell us, and the client, who you are beyond your resumé. You’re welcome to list personal initiatives, or to highlight details of your experience with the company you’ve recently departed that don’t appear on your LinkedIn profile. If you’d like to share further, feel free to send me an email, and I’ll be sure to update your internal profile with details that will shine the best light on you and your experience.
I’d like to learn more about Emissary. Where can I go?

I need to update my contact information.
Your contact information is listed under the “Contact and Personal Info” heading within your Emissary account. To change your name, email address, phone, location, and LinkedIn URL, simply update the current fields with your new information, and click ‘Save’ for each section.
How can I submit more detailed feedback about my experience as an Emissary?

We thrive on feedback here at Emissary, and whether you have positive encouragement or constructive improvements, we want to hear from you.
We hope this has been helpful.
